RIP:JOHN LARSON

??? - 9/21/11: Trumpet player for The Ides Of March: (I'm your vehicle baby, I'll take you anywhere you wanna go...) One of my favorite songs of 1970, even had the 45; now have it on a compilation CD called "Horn Rock Bands".
So another one gone; and though his name is relativelty unknown, his horn made the song what it is...
Rock on John, rock on...

RIP: JOHN DU CANN

1945 - 9/21/2011: Guitar/vocals for Atomic Rooster.
A band I first heard while living in England 1970-1971.
Forgot about them back in the U.S. since they never seemed as big. Hooked back up years later and started listening again. Then, surprisingly I bought a CD fron Five Day Week Straw People, a recent reissue, and found out John had played with them previous to being in Atomic Rooster (who also had Carl Palmer as their drummer before he left to become 1/3 of you know who!
John's partner in Atomic Rooster, Vincent Crane, died in 1989.
So, back together again, rock on John, rock on...

PLACES I HAVE (AND HAVE NOT) BEEN

I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.

I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go so I try not to visit there too often.

I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable. I go there more often as I'm getting older.

One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!

THE THIRD REVELATION

By Ralph McInerny:
"John, are you safe there? The news is absolutely horrible. How is Heather?"
"I've put her into a convent of Carmelites."
"Do they make candy?"
