Zhigulevskoye
Which is really nothing special, a Russian Lager, but at one time it was the only Russian beer that was available - even in Russia! Originally brewed starting in 1881 as 'Viennese Beer' but the name was changed in 1934 as being too bourgeois. There were once 700 breweries in the USSR making this beer.Interestingly, after trying the beer, a few months later I was reading The Russia House by John LeCarre the spy novelist, published in 1989, and they actually mentioned this beer by name.
